Video Is Super Hot and Getting Hotter

Online video content has been getting hotter for a while now. Ooh la la! No get your mind out of the gutter, we just mean that really video is king when it comes to your marketing strategy.

According to a report from HubSpot Research, over 50% of consumers want to see video content from companies … more than any other type of content.

Apple has reportedly set aside more than $1 billion for original video content, and Facebook recently launched their Facebook Watch service. Of course these plays would have been in response to companies like Netflix and YouTube, who are already dominating the video category.

Cisco reports that in 2019, video will represent over 80 percent of all Internet traffic. In the U.S. alone it will be over 85 percent.

According to Content Marketing Institute’s Joe Pulizzi, “Marketing success takes three things. Record, repeat, remove. Marketing fails when our recorded goals aren’t big enough.”

For companies who want to get their video content going, you need to act and turn goals into reality. It’s ok though if video is new to you, don’t get overwhelmed.

As always the best place to start though is the simplest approach. All you really need is a smartphone and Internet connection to take your first baby steps. And keep it lightweight to get going! Just record and publish to your social or Youtube channels.
